Tchiwara is the ritual representation of an African antelope within the Bambara culture, North of Mali.
These sculptures are usually used in different ceremonies and dances in the town.
Las Tchiwaras pueden ser macho o hembra. Females are often accompanied by their young and the male appears with long curved horns and decorated plumes and a prominent sex, how is our case.

The geometric decoration throughout the piece is typical of the Segou region for this type of sculpture and demonstrates the skill of the sculptor in his creation process.. Both pieces are also decorated by thin sheets of brass engraved on both the head and the body.. They also wear earrings with red thread and Cauris (conchas).
