African Amber Necklace

Magnificent phenolic resin necklace, bakelite or catalin, commonly known as "faux amber" or "african amber". They were very popular in the years 20 and 30 until it was discontinued and that is why today they are so rare and appreciated. In North and West Africa they were used as a substitute for amber or copal in their traditional necklaces..
The assembly is in the Tuareg style as well as the decoration of the amber with copper plate, decorated silver and bronze. The length of the necklace is 55 cm plus the big bead. It's made with 24 black onix beads of different sizes, 4 African amber beads and the rest with black glass beads.
